Many people ask which time of year is best for hair transplants. The answer is simple but complex.

Hair transplants can be done any time of the year. BUT! The most important thing is that the client chooses a time of year for hair transplantation that suits them best. Holidays, trips, rest etc. should all be taken into account. It is important to avoid heavy physical work and sport for at least a week after the procedure. Instead, you should rest while the implanted area regenerates.

As mentioned above, any time of the year is suitable for hair transplantation, but each season has its own specific characteristics.

If hair transplantation is planned in winter, it is very important not to get a cold scalp, as the first two days after the hair transplantation the area will need a lot of spraying. Wearing a cap is recommended at the earliest after two days (more on this in a separate blog)

For spring hair transplants, the weather may have less impact on the post-transplant period, but it is important to protect the transplanted area through the rainy season as well (hat, umbrella)

After hair transplantation in the summer, it is important to be aware of the heat. In hot weather, do not spend long periods of time in the hot sun, as your scalp can burn after just a few minutes. If you cannot avoid strong sunlight, it is advisable to protect the transplanted area with a loose, clean baseball cap. Even if you have hair transplants, it is not advisable to leave your hairless scalp in the sun for a long time. Try to keep away from UV rays and excessive sweating. If the hair transplant is on a hot, sweltering day and you have stopped your car away from the clinic, a short walk of one or two minutes should not harm your scalp, as the procedure usually lasts until late afternoon or evening, when the UV radiation is not so strong.

For autumn hair transplants, the weather may have less of an impact on the transplant.

As in spring, the area to be transplanted should be protected from rain and strong winds. But the most important thing is to go for hair transplantation when you have time for a regeneration period. The weather factors mentioned above can be avoided and the hair transplanted area can be protected.

The time of year to wear a cap after hair transplantation should be determined according to the season. Generally speaking (but this may vary from person to person), a cap should not be worn immediately after hair transplantation. If necessary, it may be worn on the 3rd day after the procedure, with due care and following certain rules. It is very important that the cap is preferably new and cleanly washed (possibly disinfected). In winter this can be a soft, loose cotton cap, as long as the wounds have dried out and do not stick to the wound! In other seasons, it is more appropriate to wear a baseball cap after hair transplantation if necessary. Under no circumstances should the cap rest on the transplanted area!!! Gently place it on the forehead and the centre of the back of the head so that it does not come into direct contact with the transplanted area. Hygiene is still the most important!

Wearing a cap depends mainly on the type of surgery, which area was affected during the hair transplantation. It is important to check with your doctor or clinic staff before wearing a cap!!!

Hair transplantation is an aesthetic surgical procedure, which has its own risks, but with the right care and expertise, these risks can be minimised. It is important to follow medical instructions after hair transplantation. There is such a thing as "what to do after hair transplantation", which is defined individually by each clinic. It is very important to understand and follow the instructions and suggestions. Keep hygiene in mind!

After hair transplantation, the transplanted hairs start to grow and after two weeks they gradually start to fall out due to shock. The hair follicles do not fall out, only the "crop" of hairs is released. According to the life cycle of hair growth, new hair follicles start to grow after 4-5 months on average. However, the final result should be expected within 12 months.
